Hello Lovlies!!!
Here's a few projects I worked on over the weekend. I was quite the busy bird. I spray painted one little project and all of a sudden I had a KAJILLION things I wanted to craft! Chock it up to the spray paint fumes, because I sure wasn't motivated when I woke up!
I found this great gold frame at SCU a couple weeks ago and begged and pleaded to have it....for free. And I got it! I'm sure they thought I was insane, wanting this great hulking Jesus Picture in my home but little did they know....
It looks precious leaning up against my living room wall! It's definitely a work in progress still, but I kind of love it. I'm thinking it would be precious at Christmas with little ornaments hanging from the top, or hang a Welcome sign from it. The possibilities are endless! Can you come up with any ideas for this space? As you can see I have no aversion to clutter. and color.
(And yes that is a huge teddy bear on the bottom shelf. It's my dogs. I forgot to move it.
Judge me.)
Judge me.)
Did you notice the green lantern guy hanging on the right? My sister used those in her wedding in this color...
And I decided to spray paint mine a candy apple green!
(Keep that Greek column in the back of your little mind)
And while that dried, I put on some pink rubber gloves and picked up all the lovely poo in my yard! At my parents, my little sister is the designated Pooper Scooper but unfortunately there are no small children to force the gross chores on at my house, so out I went. To pick up poo. Ever wondered what I look like when I wake up in the mornings?
There ya go! Told you I wasn't motivated when I woke up :)
I also found this great gem of a cheap night stand in the back shed. I guess the previous owners didn't want to haul it out. But as the Grinch says, "One man's toxic sludge is another man's potpourrie". Doesn't really apply in this situation, but you get what I mean :)
Check back in the future to see what I end up doing with this! Right now I'm trying to scrape off that terrifying mess that is stuck to the top of it.
And remember the Greek column????
I dry-brushed it purple!!!!!
It looks very pink in this picture, but the actual color is "metallic plum" in case you just love it like I do :)
Maverick decided he needed to be in the pictures. He's such a teenager, it's always him him him. And yes I painted it inside. I know, I'm so brave. (I swear there's no paint on the floor Mr. Darcy's parents. Not a droplet!)
I bought this white candelabra guy last summer, and it just got to looking a bit bleh to me. Probably due to the spray paint fumes.
So I painted it yellow and added this candy apple red candles! I'm not sure I like it on the kitchen table, it mirrors the chandelier a bit too much, but I do like the color combo. Mr. Darcy hates it but I have chosen to just tune him out when he talks about how much he hates red. What do boys know anyway? Maybe I'll compromise with him if he can figure out a way to hang my cute little vintage window frame back on the wall. See that black blob at the top of the wall? That used to have a cute little window frame guy hanging from it, till the window ripped through the wall and left a hole.
If you remember me talking about how I was painting my wingback chair, here's the finished result! It's a bit scratchy to sit on, so I stuck in in this corner, which I LOVE, and I'll just use it for extra seating.
Pillow by my darling Mother over at Beyond the Screen Door.
WHEW! And that's it for now folks!!!!
Lots of creative love,

I love all your adorable projects; spray paint can do wonders for so many "treasures." You made me laugh with your Grinch reference...we love to quote that movie! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, my word you've been busy! Have to say LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the apple green candle thing. LOVE IT! So cute. The verdict is still out on the column. Maybe I need to see it in person. :) (Had to go back and remind myself what all you'd done) Love the frame sitting on your table and all the cute, colorful accessories you've collected. Oh, and the early morning self portrait...priceless! And the grinch quote? Perfect! I know exactly what you mean!
