Vintage hat ( apparently my mother used it for a Halloween costume), Primark Cloak, H&M stripey dress, Forever 21 lace skirt, See You Monday leggings, Target Boots.
We went antique shopping yesterday and I bought a chair and a feed sack. Pictures shall be forthcoming. But for now:
The promised How To Make a Bee Hive Hairdo to rival Audrey Hepburn:
(I apologize in advance for these AWFUL pictures. Late night hair sessions aren't a good idea apparently.)
This is best with slightly dirty hair. Not 2 week old hair mind you; about a day.
1.Start by picking up the hair at the crown of your head (the part you want poofisized)
2.Take a comb and begin teasing the underside of your section....
3.Until you have this lovely birds nest effect going on
4.Take a bristle brush (Mine is called a teasing brush, Sally's for like $2) and smooth the top side of your nest
5.You can now take a break and act like Bridget Bardot for a minute...ok continuing
6.Gather your poof into a half up pony and secure with a minimal amount of bobby pins (you don't want a huge chunk of pins visible)
It'll look something like this....
7.Take the section left down and tease just a bit
8.Twist this secton up like you would when you wear a jaw clip
9.When your bottom section meets your pinned up section, twist what is left under...
And pin into place ONLY on the open side. You want the other side to be smoothy smooth.
This is going to take some practice. I normally start this section a little off center becauase it tends to move to the center once I twist it up.
10.Smooth it with your brush, spray it down and you're good to go! Grab those cat eye sunglasses and head on down to Tiffany's!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Lot's of TGIF love,

I've been in awe of you since you were about 13 with what you can do with hair! I don't think I've EVER gotten that much tease out of my hair!
ReplyDeleteAnd for the record, the little beret (or Tam as my Mom called it) was just a cute little hat I had as a teen. Later it became the hat for a pinocchio costume! :)
gurrrl, no bump-it required? I'm so on this! ;)
ReplyDeleteYOURS, MINE AND OURS
