I'm constantly dying, curling, spraying, ratting and otherwise damaging my hair. I've tried letting it go natural but playing with my hair is a part of who I am and how I express myself.
But I also want to keep my hair as healthy as possible, so I'm always trying out new products and damage solutions to come up with the best for me.
Here are a few of my tried and true, as well as a few recent, favorites.
1. Chi Silk Infusion
This oil is great for those who use a heat on their hair. Hair dryers, curling irons, flat irons, and even sun damage can fade your color and dry out your hair really fast. I use Chi oil on my hair as soon as I get out of the shower, and then dab just a bit on the ends when I'm straightening it.
(This is also great for dry legs!)
2.BedHead Dumb Blonde Leave in Conditioner
Lately I've been coloring my hair lighter and lighter, which is the harshest color treatment you can do. To protect my hair and my color, I use this leave in conditioner. It's a great detangler and it smells HEAVENLY. BedHead also claims that this conditioner will lighten the gold tones, but I haven't really noticed if it works because I use #4 for that!
3. Dove Dry Shampoo
Coloring your hair is hard on your hair as it is and washing it every day dries out natural oils your hair needs. I wash my hair at the most 3 times a week, and it's usually more like twice. I use dry shampoo every day, including the days I just took a shower. Dry Shampoo helps your hair from looking oily, but it also gives your hair a great texture, which is why I use it freshly washed hair. The dove dry shampoo smells amazing and is probably the best drug store brand I've come across. My favorite professional brand is Big Sexy Hair volumizing dry shampoo.
4. Clairol Shimmer Lights Blonding Shampoo
I use this shampoo to lighten my blonde even more. The shampoo is purple, which counteracts the gold or brassy tones in blondes. Be careful though, it's very easy to end up with purpleish hair instead of white-blonde. I wash my hair once with the purple shampoo and once with regular shampoo, about once or twice a week.
Have a great weekend lovelies! Happy Memorial Day!
