Mr. Darcy with my jug 'o beer
(the root variety of course)
(the root variety of course)
So Mr. Darcy and I went this year with a few friends. This
was our first time to go together because he is from England and sadly had
never experienced the Great State Fair of Oklahoma. Poor kid; must be tough
growing up in England. And last year we were not acquaintances as of yet. So this was a momentous occasion for us as a
couple.
Question for ya’ll: do you know what funnel cake is? Is the
world aware of this amazingly delicious item of food choice? Because if you’re
not than you are just sad. Mr. Darcy didn’t know what it was, but then again he’s
from across the pond and they do weird things like eat beans for breakfast and pronounce
buoy “boy”. (This is a big discussion
for us. Boys aren’t floating orange balls. Just saying.) But back to funnel
cake; in case you aren’t in the know on all your fair fare (you see how I did
that? Fair fare? I’m so clever), I shall tell you:
Funnel cake is batter, dribbled over hot oil and deep fried,
pulled out, covered in powdered sugar and stuffed into my belly.
Not sure what's going on here, but that's a funnel cake. :)
UH.MAZING. ‘nuff said.
On another note, here’s a random hideous morning picture of
my new green door and black shutters! Please excuse the pitiful human being in
the picture. She is of no importance. But in case you wondered:
Button down: Old Navy; Grey Bow tee: Forever 21; Black wide
leg dress pants: Forever 21; Red heels you can’t see: Chinese Laundry. Glasses:
Candy’s.
Lots of I’m stuffed to the brim with deep fried batter and
root beer love,

You and Mr. Darcy make such a cute couple. :) Glad he got to experience the OK State Fair.
ReplyDeleteI hate you for putting that horrendous picture on there! However how would you pronounce buoyant? ... I rest my case!
ReplyDeleteYour case will never be rested Mr. Darcy because you will never be right. Go drink some tea. :) Noggins!
ReplyDeleteDiscussing differences between the US and the UK never gets old. My husband and I have been together for two years and I'm still amazed by stuff he's never heard of. He'd never had PB&J until he met me. Can you believe that?
ReplyDeleteYou always make me laugh...beginning with the title of this post!
