'98 Family Picture Outfit or Amelia Earhart pants?

Oopsies! Had to put some censors on, Maverick and I were showin a bit too much.

Here's the thing:

 I kind of despise khakis.

Not on anyone else, just myself. They just remind me of 1998 family pictures on the beach, with everyone in khaki shorts or pants and white button ups. Which was adorable and so "in" for a while there, but it's not really the image I want to convey when I go to work. I'm pretty sure no one else see's that, but still. My legs, my opinion.

So when I found these pants I was a bit iffy at first, but Mr. Darcy LOVED them for some reason, so I went ahead and bought them.

Alright Mr. Darcy. You were right.

I call them my Amelia Earhart pants because they remind of...well, pants that Amelia Earhart would wear:

When I googled Amelia Earhart I couldn't find ONE picture of her in khakis like mine. In all of them, she was wearing wide leg palazzo style pants. The only one I could find was this Hayden Panittiere dressed AS Amelia Earhart pic.

So I guess I need a new name for these pants. O well!

Point of the story is, basics like khakis are great, but try to find them in a different cut or style so that you don't feel so blah.

Or like a 1998 Christmas card.
