So I was riding along in my car the other day, and this lovely song came on the radio. I know I will probably be shunned by all that is good and Southern in this nation of ours after this, but I just couldn't handle it. Why why why did this song ever make it onto the radio, much less a cd? I worry for our children, if this is the music that they have to look forward to.

Here is my thought process throughout this song. Welcome to my brain.

If there's a plane or a bus leavin' Dallas I hope you're on it
O this sounds fun, like a cheesy breakup song. I love cheesy breakup songs.

If there's a train movin' fast down the tracks I hope you caught it
'Cause I swear out there ain't where you oughta be
...Well where should I be then mister?

So catch a ride catch a cab, don't you know I miss ya bad.
Ohhh dang it, not a cheesy breakup song, just a cheesy love song. Those SUCK. Alright fine, I'll play along.

But don't you walk to me
BAHAHA no worries dear, I had no intention of walking anywhere. Have you seen my shoes? They're not really walkin' boots. More like sittin pretty heels.

Baby ruuuuuuuuuun cut a path across the blue skies
I'm sorry, I know your country and all, but you seem to be confused on a few points. First off, you run on the ground. Not in the sky. Therefore, no paths will be cut in any blue skies. Secondly, I don't run. Ever. Unless I'm running away from this wretched song.

Straight in a straight line you can't get here fast enough
Well I don't think I can travel straight in a crooked line, but alright I'll humor you, since you seem a bit confused on life and physics.

Find a truck and fire it up lean on the gas and off the clutch
Leave Dallas in the dust I need you in a rush
So baby run

Are you mistaking me for someone else? A truck? No sir. No trucks will be involved in this endeavor. Secondly, if you need me so bad, why aren't you coming to me? Aren't cowboys supposed to be gentleman and all that?

If you ain't got a suitcase get a box or an old brown paper sack
Pack it light or pack it heavy take a truck take a Chevy
Baby just come back

You are seriously confused. A box? A brown paper sack?! If I'm going anywhere, and we haven't officially established that point yet since you seem a bit mentally unhinged and all, but if I WAS a suitcase would be used. If I didn't have one, one would be bought. Why in the WORLD would I use a BOX to hold my vaca ensembles? If you're forcing me to come to you, you could at least offer to buy me a suitcase.

There's a short cut to the highway out of town why don't you take it
Don't let that speed limit slow you down go on and break it

There's a shortcut to the end of this song, I'll think I'll take that instead. And now you're pressuring me to be a law breaker. You sound exactly like the type of upstanding young man I've always dreamed of...o wait, no.

Baby run cut a path across the blue skies
We've been over this....

Straight in a straight line you can't get here fast enough
Find a truck and fire it up lean on the gas and off the clutch
Leave Dallas in the dust I need you in a rush
So baby run
.....you're hopeless.

  1. Oh my gosh. this made me laugh. of all the songs.. there is a song on the radio right now that references "#2" and the first time I heard it I died. Hated it.

But not anywhere near as much as I hate the radio, or Kesha.
