We've Got a Jumper

Have you ever had an idea pop into your head and you just can't get it out?

It jumps into your heart and makes itself nice and comfy and then starts to fester and grow until all you can think about is this little idea.

This idea changes from a cool notion to a fervent dream, something that's bigger than you and scary as hell and every time you think about it the air gets knocked out of your lungs because you want it want it want it so bad.

But you don't go for it.

Because you, my friend, are a big fat wuss.

You're so scared of failing that you'd rather act like you don't care than take a leap of faith and try out that scary, big, fervent dream.

Hi I'm Kaleigh and I'm the "you" in this hypothetical situation.

I realized the other day that that's what I've been doing with this here blogio. I have these ideas and dreams and they are SO big and scary and wonderful and I had subconsciously decided to never go for them. Ya I've had fun, and I've put a lot of time and hard work into this blog, and I've even put  myself out there a bit, but if I ever got close to anything that scared me I would back off. I'd only do so much, only try so hard, so that if I failed or was rejected than it wasn't that big of a deal because I wasn't trying that hard anyways.

But what if I chose to be fully open and honest and I took that huge scary leap and things happened and they were awesome and maybe they didn't happen exactly as I planned but they HAPPENED and I experienced all these great cool things that I never would have if I hadn't make the leap?

What if?

You'll never know until you try right? "Reach for the moon, even if you don't make it you'll land among the stars" and all those other corny quotes you can think of have been running through my head lately.

So all this to say, there's going to be some changes happening around here over the next couple of months. I've decided to take that leap. To open up and go for a dream and maybe get burned in the process but you never know.

You just never know.
